Vehicle axle load sensor

An axle load sensor helps, improve transportation efficiency, avoid heavy fines and increase the service life of vehicles.

What an axle load cell is

Axle load sensors are placed on the spring or pneumatic suspension of trucks. The equipment is connected to the transportation monitoring system and transmits information online. The data is transmitted to the monitor in the driver's cab, as well as to the dispatcher's desk. The devices capture data on the weight of the machine and axle load on the entire route. The device is indispensable when loading and unloading the vehicle.

Sensors integrated into the GLONASS/GPS monitoring system help:

- avoid overloading the vehicle as a whole and on each axle separately, which increases the service life of the suspension system
- eliminate unauthorized transportation
- track the transportation of unaccounted cargo
- avoid deception during loading/unloading
- create a proof base for resolving disputes with customers
- Extend tire life as a result of rational load distribution
- preserve the road surface
- save the owner of the trucking company from heavy fines
The weight control system includes a GLONASS/GPS transportation monitoring terminal, which is installed in the vehicle cab. The device processes, transmits and stores all collected information from sensors. The driver can see on the monitor
- total weight of the vehicle
- cargo weight
- loads on all axles individually
The interface of the on-board computer is intuitive. Any employee can quickly understand how the axle load monitoring system works. The sensors function in all weather conditions in regions with different climatic features. The terminal provides data with an error of no more than 2%. Information about each specific flight is stored in the database. Top management of the company can get a report on axle load for any period of the route. On-board system of cargo and vehicle weight control allows to refuse the use of checkweighers and other additional equipment.
Who will benefit from the sensor:
- owners of trucking companies
- Owners of municipal and commercial vehicles
- owners of logistics companies
- Owners of their own fleets
Igor Elsukov, head of analytical department of MONTRANS Group of Companies: “Axle load control sensors can be easily connected to MONTRANS satellite monitoring systems. But the equipment should be installed only by professionals. The management of the customer company receives online control of cargo weight at any point of transportation. The system is set up for instant notification of events, if suddenly there is a loss of cargo. This is the case when the vehicle carries the scales with it. Rational distribution of load on axles helps to avoid large fines. For example, if a weight check reveals that the authorized weight is exceeded by more than 50%, the logistics company faces a fine of up to half a million rubles. That is why today axle load sensors ensure the greatest efficiency of transportation and are the most promising method of weighing vehicles”.
